After the outstanding success of the Mutant Cell comes the Dark Star and the Riot! Using a highly successful coverstock in the Ultimate Vision and a new core these balls are going to be two of the best rolling balls on the market for the price. The release date for the Riot and Dar Star is February 24th
At Roto Grip we pride ourselves in providing a complete line of bowling balls in both value and performance.
The recent introduction of the Dark Star created a nice compliment for those medium to drier patterns, but we still needed a strong solid reactive in the Shield Line for those patterns with a bit more volume up front.
The Riot is just what the kingdom ordered. The utilization of the Ultimate Vision solid reactive coverstock is the key to this addition. The increased surface topography and greater coefficient of friction battles those medium to heavier volume patterns with fierce intensity.
The Photon core delivers the energy behind the Riot. This newly designed medium RG (2.58) and medium differential (.040) core creates greater mid-lane read and increased entry angle to the pocket than its predecessors in the Planet series.
It's time to start your Riot in the Bowling Kingdom!
The Roto Grip Riot is currently selling for $87.99 and rates a 170.5 on the Perfect Scale.
Value and Performance have always been synonymous with the Roto Grip brand, and the all new Dark Star stands to continue that tradition.
Our first goal was to develop a stronger Shield Line ball to fit into the Roto Grip line. The team felt that there was too big of a gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls. The intent was to create more mid-lane read with stronger backend motion, so we developed the Photon Core with a lower RG value and a higher differential.
To enhance this core motion we also added the Ultimate Vision pearl coverstock to this ball. This performance proven coverstock found on the Epic and Illusion series of balls. It boasts a higher coefficient of friction and surface texture for added traction in the oil and superior backend performance.
This combination of core and coverstock was the ideal fit into the line. Our tests showed that it filled the gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls perfectly.
The Roto Grip Dark Star is currently selling for $87.99 and rates a 168.4 on the Perfect Scale.
After the success of the Siege comes the Evil Siege. Having seen a staffer throw this ball already, I can vouch for how good this ball truly rolls. It is much cleaner that the original but still has the smooth heavy rolling motion in the back of the lane. It is a great compliment for when the Siege is seeing the lane too quickly.
The Brunswick Evil Siege registers a 207.5 on the Perfect Scale.

Coming January 27, 2010 is the Storm Invasion! What a ball this is, if you watched the PBA telecast Sunday you might have been wondering what Wes Malott was throwing in the finals. Well, it was a Cell Pearl on one lane and the Storm Invasion on the other. This is one highly aggressive ball! We were able to throw the Invasion at the last Storm/Roto-Grip seminar as a unmarked test ball. In comparison to the Roto Grip Mutant Cell it was about 4 to 6 boards stronger with a earlier read. We are highly looking forward to this release.
The Storm Invasion registers a 217.9 on the Perfect Scale.

Manufacturer description of the new Storm Invasion:
The Storm Invasion features the next generation of advancement in core and coverstock technology. Our first goal was to develop a strong asymmetrical design different than any other. The concept was to create contours along the RG planes to ensure a stronger preferred spin axis. We did this by developing intersecting contoured bands from the X-axis along the Y and Z axes. These bands are developed at specific arcs to maximize RG and differential values along the planes. In turn, this translates into a quicker revving core with a more defined moment of inertia or breakpoint unlike any prior design found on the market.
The all new Origin™ core boasts a 2.48 RG value with .057 total differential and a .017 intermediate differential. Using C.A.T.S., we tested the Origin™ core up against the Shape Lock™-HD core with same coverstock to see the differences, and we were amazed by the results. The Origin™ core started into the “hook” phase about 3 feet sooner and created a stronger entry angle to the pocket. Usually when we get the ball started into the “hook” phase sooner we see less entry angle to the pocket, but this core with the contoured bands along the RG planes definitely showed us something different.
The finishing touch to the Invasion™ is the R3X™ coverstock. This third generation of Reactor™ series coverstock has the highest Ra values ever produced by Storm products. Based on the USBC Ball Motion Study we know that higher Ra values produce more ball motion in the oil, and this coverstock is no exception. We saw a 9% increase in friction values in the oil and an increase of 5% down the lane over its predecessor R2X™ utilizing C.A.T.S. testing.
You think the Cell was a great ball, wait till you see the Roto Grip Mutant Cell.
This the info from Roto-Grip:
“The success of the Cell series continues to grow, and so does the technology involved in the newest edition. THe signature touch to the line has been its continuous motion and versatility. This stems from the Nucleus core and its unique shape. This asymmetrical part maintains its dynamic integrity and differential value after drilling better than any other ball on the market.
Our intent was to utilize this same premise in the newly designed Nucleus II core. We have strategically removed mass along the axes of the core to increase the intermediate differential or mass bias strength. This translate into a quicker revving part along with increased motion potential down the lane.
The final touch is the utilization of the Cytoplasmic XL solid reactive coverstock. This second generation coverstock has an extreme amount of surface topography (Ra value). This means more friction from foul line through the pin deck.
The Evolution of Technology has Mutated!.”

Tech specs on this upcoming new ball release:
With all the success of Ebonite The One - Original and Ebonite The One Encore, Ebonite The One Pearl is going to be a sure success. The only complaint I had about The One was that I could not use it later in the block of league or a tournament, but with a pearl version of the GB 10.7 wrapped around the Centrex Symmetrical Mass Bias core, this will be a thing of the past. This will be one of the most sought after balls in 2009, the official release date is January 06, 2009. Be sure to pre order yours today!!!
