BRUNSWICK EVIL SIEGE

29 Dec

After the success of the Siege comes the Evil Siege. Having seen a staffer throw this ball already, I can vouch for how good this ball truly rolls. It is much cleaner that the original but still has the smooth heavy rolling motion in the back of the lane. It is a great compliment for when the Siege is seeing the lane too quickly.

The Brunswick Evil Siege registers a 207.5 on the bowlingball.com Perfect Scale™.

Tech Specs:

  • COVERSTOCK: Propel Pearl
  • WEIGHT BLOCK: M.A.C.E.
  • FACTORY FINISH: 4000-grit Micro pad
  • BALL COLOR: 2 Color Pearl, Red / Black
  • DUROMETER: 75-76 Rex D-scale
  • FLARE POTENTIAL: Medium – High
  • WEIGHTS: 12-16 lbs.

Manufacturer description of the new Brunswick Evil Siege:

The Evil Siege is the second in our new series of Pro Performance balls and features the new MACE asymmetrical core as well as the new solid Propel Pearl coverstock. This is a strong ball that battles medium to heavy oil and responds quickly to friction for great pin action.

The Brunswick Evil Siege has a world wide release date scheduled for January 25, 2010.

STORM INVASION COMING SOON!

14 Dec

Coming January 27, 2010 is the Storm Invasion! What a ball this is, if you watched the PBA telecast Sunday you might have been wondering what Wes Malott was throwing in the finals. Well, it was a Cell Pearl on one lane and the Storm Invasion on the other. This is one highly aggressive ball! We were able to throw the Invasion at the last Storm/Roto-Grip seminar as a unmarked test ball. In comparison to the Roto Grip Mutant Cell it was about 4 to 6 boards stronger with a earlier read. We are highly looking forward to this release.

The Storm Invasion registers a 217.9 on the bowlingball.com Perfect Scale™.

Tech Specs:

  • COVERSTOCK: R3X™ Solid Reactive
  • WEIGHT BLOCK: Origin
  • FACTORY FINISH: 4000-grit Abralon®
  • BALL COLOR: Violet/Crimson/Sapphire
  • DUROMETER: 73-75 Rex D-scale
  • FLARE POTENTIAL: 6” Plus (High)
  • FRAGRANCE: Mulberry
  • WEIGHTS: 12-16 lbs.

Manufacturer description of the new Storm Invasion:

The Storm Invasion features the next generation of advancement in core and coverstock technology. Our first goal was to develop a strong asymmetrical design different than any other. The concept was to create contours along the RG planes to ensure a stronger preferred spin axis. We did this by developing intersecting contoured bands from the X-axis along the Y and Z axes. These bands are developed at specific arcs to maximize RG and differential values along the planes. In turn, this translates into a quicker revving core with a more defined moment of inertia or breakpoint unlike any prior design found on the market.

The all new Origin™ core boasts a 2.48 RG value with .057 total differential and a .017 intermediate differential. Using C.A.T.S., we tested the Origin™ core up against the Shape Lock™-HD core with same coverstock to see the differences, and we were amazed by the results. The Origin™ core started into the “hook” phase about 3 feet sooner and created a stronger entry angle to the pocket. Usually when we get the ball started into the “hook” phase sooner we see less entry angle to the pocket, but this core with the contoured bands along the RG planes definitely showed us something different.

The finishing touch to the Invasion™ is the R3X™ coverstock. This third generation of Reactor™ series coverstock has the highest Ra values ever produced by Storm products. Based on the USBC Ball Motion Study we know that higher Ra values produce more ball motion in the oil, and this coverstock is no exception. We saw a 9% increase in friction values in the oil and an increase of 5% down the lane over its predecessor R2X™ utilizing C.A.T.S. testing.

MUTANT CELL VIDEO

02 Dec

The Mutant Cell has quickly become one of the most popular balls on the market. It gives a ball motion that is completely different from the rest of Cell line and can be placed in almost every persons arsenal. This is our video of the Mutant Cell. It was shot on a 40-foot house pattern at River Lanes in Titusville. Enjoy!
